Shaligram is
a sacred stone that is found in Gandaki river, Muktinath area of Nepal. The
worship of these stones is widespread and is in existence since the ancient
times. Shaligrams are worshipped for the grant of divine protection, good
health, wealth and prosperity, righteous living and spiritual liberation. They
are sacred ''shilas'' or stones representing the abstract form of Lord Vishnu.
His followers, the Hindu Vaishnavas, place these stones in their puja titlears for
daily worship. This item would be big in size.
