The Ganapati Atharvashirsha (Abhishekam) was
originally written by Atharva Rishi. It is used to invoke the names of Lord
Ganesha before starting any work. It is believed to be the division of Ganaptya.
There are 108 names of Ganesha which are chanted during this puja. If these 108
names are enchante while offering red flowers all the eight types of problem
and difficulties can be overcome. The Ganesha Abhishek is done on Sankashti
Chaturti or any other good occasion or 'Shubh Muhurta'. This Ganesha paath is
repeated 21 times.
